DBT Informed Therapy: Accountability, Structure, Support, Mindfulness Training, CBT

Untreated or inadequately treated mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder and borderline personality disorder wreak havoc in people's lives and cost society millions. Even untreated Attention Deficit Disorder, Social Phobia, Panic Disorder, Depression and Anxiety come at great cost.

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. ~ Carl Rogers

Are you ready to change? Have you tried therapy before and it just didn't work? Are you afraid that therapy just can't help you? Therapy is a process of change. Real and lasting change is often elusive and difficult to achieve. Our best chance for making significant changes in our lives is to use the support available to us. Whether it's quitting alcohol or stopping smoking, overcoming panic attacks or improving relationships, sharing our goals and getting support from others helps makes our dreams a reality.

The Break Free Method

Mindfulness-based treatments such as DBT and ACT help with improved insight and greater ease in living. Repetition and practice change behavior. Facebook, Skype, blogging, texting and email can be valuable reinforcing tools to help keep you connected and support change. I provide texting prompts and recorded scripts to track and reinforce behavior changes. Proper use of social media tools and the right email tools and apps can help create an immersive treatment experience that brings change out of my office and into your life.

I call this mix of reinforcing tools the Break Free method. This program uses the strengths of these tools to treat people striving for a better quality of life. Whether you've recently left the hospital or are trying to avoid the hospital, or the idea of extra support, structure and accountability is appealing, this program may be right for you.
